An Eventful 2008!
The internet has made getting information easier and more accessible than ever before. We know however there is still no substitute for face-to-face contact.
That’s why we at Philips AVENT will be taking part in a number of events this year where you will have a chance to speak to us directly, and come along and try out our range of award-winning products.
There are Baby Shows taking place all over the country dedicated to pregnancy, birth, babies and toddlers, so keep an eye on our Events Diary for one that’s happening near you (see below). There are also a number of other relevant events happening across the UK designed to help raise awareness and promote health and wellbeing.
Pregnancy Health Research
Philips has thrown its weight behind baby charity Tommy’s and their research on the causes and prevention of miscarriage, premature and stillborn babies.
Philips has supplied Tommy’s with state-of-the-art ultrasonic scanning equipment used by hospitals during antenatal care. The equipment is being used as part of the MAPS (Making Pregnancy Safer) study, an international programme to help save mums’ and babies’ lives. The programme will study over 10,000 women experiencing their first pregnancy.
Currently there is no screening test to accurately predict if first time mothers may develop late pregnancy complications. Identifying these women in early pregnancy could prevent almost a third of cases.
And, during the month of September, for every £10 spent on Philips AVENT products, Philips will donate £1* to Tommy’s to help their cause.
